You might want to also consider the Porsche compressor. If you get a flat in the middle of nowhere, you will need it. Had to use mine once. Saved me a huge towing charge as I was 2 hours from a place I could get the regular tire fixed.

Dumb question...does that space saver tire need to be inflated? I assume yes and that's why there is mentioned the need for a compressor. I wondered this when I looked at my spare recently.

yes the tire needs to be inflated. thats why your flat tire won't fit in the same space when you use the spare

The Porsche compressor is very small and fits into the hub of the spare. I don't remember for sure, but I also seem to remember that there was something unique about the way the compressor attaches to the spare when inflating it - but I could be wrong. It's also a good idea to keep a large garbage bag with the tire and compressor. If you ever have to put your flat in the car, put it in the bag to keep you car clean.

Put up a WTB ad in the Marketplace. I'm sure there are plenty of guys with one laying around.
