Opinion on an 03 996 Turbo

He will not take less than $49k. I have seen and driven the car and can't imagine a 996 in better condition. There is literally not an interior scuff. From what I can tell it's entirely flawless (and I will of course get a pre-purchase inpection from an indy shop).

History on it is good, but nothing has really been done. They found a crack in one of the forged wheels and replaced it. And it got a new battery.

The guy selling it is an "exotic car broker" out of his house. That was kinda sketchy but he's a porsche guy through and through. Owned 2 dozen porsches, knew more details than any of my research on the 996.
$49k seems high to me but I can't fault him to sticking to his guns on this one. Is this a dumb purchase?

Looks like wing replaced and wheels. Nice milage. And its an 03. Wheels can be replaced so is the wing. Make sure you inspect the car for body damage. Do not i repeat do not be afraid yo take the car for longer run. Make sure car is fully warmed up. And do few pulls from 3rd gear. Slap the car on the lift. Inspect for any leaks. Torn boots. If you see something. You can fix it. But he needs to drop the price. 996s are getting old. And they need some love

looks really clean. dumb? no. but not the deal of the century either.

i'm sure it's mechanically sound. but $60k is 997.1tt territory, albeit with higher mileage. it's something to consider. i would throw ten more at a 997.1tt before i'd pay top dollar for an 03 996tt. though i enjoy my 03 daily.

I think the price is fine if car checks out= you will pay more for a nice original low mile car but its worth it in my opinion.

So, to be a little nit picky the ad copy said totally all original with X50 package. Since the wheels are not OE nor the wing, I wonder how the seller can state all original and be totally truthful ?
If I was to pay the 49K price for this vehicle, I would want all original.
This is an OK deal at best

Price is in the ball park for mileage and condition. I personally would rather pay sub $50k for a 996 turbo in excellent condition with low miles as oppose to around $60k for a higher mileage 997 tt.

Wing is original, it's part of the 8k aero package. I saw the build sheet.

The wheels are obviously not original but they are decent TechArt wheels. I think they are cast but meh I wanted aftermarket wheels anyways. The stock ones are too subtle for me.

Sweet ride. Looks like mine. I recently paid $6K less than this listing price for a 2003 with 46K miles but in excellent condition all around. Had a PPI done as well and checked out perfect, PPI also included oil analysis that came back good. My original options list had my car sold new at $146K.

Assuming he has all the service records from the local denver porsche shop, I'd say the price isn't too far off. That info, coupled with an inspection report that shows no issues, may mean you won't have any near term expensive maintenance to deal with.

I also live in denver on the north side. I bought a high mileage 2003 996tt a few years ago. It's been great, but if I had better info on prior maintenance that would have saved me a couple grand, so factor those receipts into the price. The main problems I have are stop and go on I25, and finding open safe roads. Good luck on your search; hopefully that 03 works out for you. I haven't seen it around town before, so I don't know the car or the owner.

The original wheels are called turbo twists - they are just the standard turbo wheels.
