Best tire combo for 996 GT2 on 19"

What would be the best tire combo for a 996 GT2 with 19"
19*12 rear and 19*9 front ?

Showing that you have 20G's I would opt for a sticky tire. I prefer the R888's.

Same wheel sizes I run. 235/35/19 and 305/30/19. Michelin Pilot Sport Cups or MPSC2. The 2s will last longer..

Ciao pedrhoind,

Could you please share your 19" experiences with 235/35/19 and 305/30/19 by PSC tire setting? I wonder if you compare it with the stock 18" setting, would the 19 be stiffer or bumpier on the road?

Thanks

I'm running 265/30 and 325/30 Michelin pilot sport cups with good results, you just have to be careful of the boost pipe behind the left rear tyre as it gets close

i would run a 245 35 19 up front. 305 30 19 rear.
i wouldnt run a 235 because of your front wheel width.
a 245 will keep your A.B.S. happy.

toyo r888 or michelin cups are really your only options.
both great options, i'de do the michelin, its sidewall fits a 12" wheel PERFECTLY.
i wouldnt do a michelin supersport because you will easily overpower them. (i have them)

Thanks for sharing. Would this come with good results on tracks?

Please share the photos of your wheels as this would be good as a ref for me selecting the 19s.

Yes I use this combo when I just want to drive to and from the track, when I trailer I use 18" with slicks, or when I drive the nordshleife on tourist days as the car has to be street legal.
I find it very balanced and the best streetable set up on my car, with -3.5 front and -2.8 rear camber.
Here is a picture.

Thanks for sharing the setting and exp. it's really helpful. You are car is very very nice looking especially the rims and the yellow. I was unable to find any yellow GT2 in my country so I had to go with black.

I will play around the camber setting as suggested for little bit.

ciao

Hi there again,

I heard people tried 305/30/19 for the rear and worried about side tire hitting the inner fenders and parts. Is there any mods required in order to fit the tire?

Or you just put them right in without mods?

Thanks

Sorry for the confusion. You are using 265/30 for front and 325 30 for rear.

Any mods require for the rear since it is wider which might get closer to the pipes or inner fenders etc....

Please advise.
