Very Unhappy with my Clutchmasters fiber tough stage 3 clutch kit.

I had the CM3 clutch with stock dmfw and HATED it, had 3 people drive it and all said that was the worst clutch they had ever driven. I also have gt2 conversion. It had bad chatter, high engagement with off/on weirdness, stiff as hell and was horrible to reverse. It started slipping about a year ago(think 14k miles) so i have not had any fun with it, hope to get my car back from shop tomorrow with ERP and steel fw, guard lsd, gt2rs main+1-3 and hope to have a big smile. Weird how some have absolutely zero issues with it and others cant stand it.

^ that sounds like a nice upgrade. i'm convinced folks overthink clutches and pay the price.

clutchmasters: the clutch you can keep fiddling with

So if not the CM3 clutch/flywheel, what is the current recommended for a daily driven k24/20 car?

I drove a Sachs 2.5 which i think anyone could handle daily. Or the one pwderhound mentioned which uses the same pressure plate as the 2.5. I myself am against the lwfw since running a 9.5lb in my S6 with a spec3+ and it sounds like a broken diesel truck now. Jerks all over the place at low speeds. I know its a different car but i wasnt going to take the chance with the 911 and hate it even more.

Just make sure you use the 764PP as the 4.0PP is not strong enough.

I see you're in NOVA... what shop are you using for your clutch & trans work?

This is what Todd @ Protomotive likes to use these days... Suncoast Parts has a great deal on the whole kit.

I thought the 4.0PP was good for 800+ ft/lbs, the 764PP was good for a little less, and the GT2RS PP was good for somewhere in the 600s ft/lbs... ?

Everything I have read claims the 999764 pressure plate is the strongest one offered by Sachs. To my knowledge it isn't OEM for any particular model, but is from their race/Motorsport division.

No. The 4.0PP is designed for the low torque 4.0GT3 engine and is much weaker than the 764 Motorsport PP. The 764 is the strongest PP Sachs makes. The poster above is correct.

anything is possible BUT i just dont see why the 4.0RS pp would ever be rated to 800+ tq since its on a car that makes half that.

999764 sachs motorsport pp seems to be the ticket.

That's what PP comes with the Sachs Performance kit,, and a special upgraded GT2 disc..
I think it drives as close to stock as possible , yet holds my 18g power package and lasts,,mine is still holding up..

yep my wife drove my 997tt and didnt notice the clutch was changed out to a Sachs 2.5 (gt2 disc/999764pp). that combo is perfect for stock to mild powered streeter.

i cant speak to how long it will last with my launches but i could care less

LOL...But is that also the 'special' GT2 disc that Sachs Performance in Europe sells? They claim it does have more holding power then the standard one.

Subtract the VAT and this sounds pretty reasonable...

I think this is the one everyone is talking about.
