Yes, good point. If one wants a LWFW, that solid disc won't work.
I had a South Bend clutch in my car for about 2 days, until I had it replaced. It was horrible, ON/OFF engagement, very difficult to drive. Was recommended by a friend who owns a shop.
Not sure what version it was, however, it did NOT look like the pictures you provided. It quite possible they have gotten their **** together by now, who knows, personally you won't find many, if anyone running a South Bend clutch in their TT on this forum, so there could be some level of risk.

For what it's worth, I have a clutchmasters stage 3 and its on or off... Very difficult to drive in traffic or on a hill. The thing does hold strong though. Also I'm running the stock slave .
I have a southbend in my 500whp 335i and its just a pinch heavier than stock, night and day difference than my 996.
