boost question

boost question

Starting to get more comfortable with car now. Took it to 6k rpm and boost showed 1.4 . Is that normal ? Car has a tune(upsolute) and europipe on it. Seems to run fine. just don't want to hurt anything. thanks

Its a tad high if its a k24 car with a normal 1.2,tune. If its a k16,its too.much and you'd be smart to consider logging it and staying out of 1.4,for.long as you may have a leak or waste gate issue and that territory isn't right for a k16,only flashed car.

you should contact markski and get the car logged, just to be safe :-) 1.4 seems a little bit high, im running 1.1 and super safe tune
are you sure its 1.4 maybe its just a spike

only glanced at it for a second. guess it could be a spike ? I will bring to markski when he can get me in , maybe in a couple weeks. until then i'll try to take it a little easier..

Also, tires had 44psi in tires, brought it down to about 36psi. made quite a difference.

it better be a spike! lol

i still get em too. spikes of 1.4 but my car can handle it as part of the tune etc and i dont "
live" there as I've said. keep an eye on it for sure.

you have a leak mate probably between the coolers and the throttle body.

easiest way to fix is tighten every single hose clamp you can find and get to and then zip tie every vacuum line you can find and get too.

once done your boost be back to what it should be.

He may not have a leak, I have had 6 tunes with differing mods on my K24s and used to see 1.4 on several of the tunes and now I hit and hold about 1.35 bars but see as much as 1.5 on the dash, even though the datalog shows only 1.35 peak.

OP get a durametric cable and log, there is a great sticky thread here on how to do everything. It is the best $300 one can spend on a car originally costing $130,000+

Today I took it up to 6k rpm and boost only showed 1.2 bars...I will keep an eye on it closely....

1.2 ^ that's not an "only" number! lol.

keep watching it and sustained 1.2 maybe ok but any more? again, i'd rethink it with some diagnostic help e.g. durametric or a porsche tester.
