I'm 2" lower all around on new KW V1 coilovers and some adjustable rear upper dog bones I made. I did add an H&R rear bar on the lightest setting and I'm still AWD. The car handles very well I might add and feels very neutral, the OE tendency to push (understeer) is minimized or non-existent.

OP is RWD. A RWD set up with LSD and the huge H&R rear bar is deadly. I tried it and it was a handful at the limit with horrible snap oversteer. With stock AWD it worked fine on the softest setting.

exactly what my tech said, the heavier bar would make oversteer a certainty which these are prone to, as it is. the rwd changes a things a lot! i am really looking forward to finishing my conversion ... properly!

Just the bar will not make the car oversteer by itself. As most of you know the sway bar works in conjunction with the springs for weight transfer. If your springs are soft enough, which most run fairly soft, a stiff rear bar is very driveable.

thats makes sense. it's also tough to configure your car for the minute differences in driving style conditions. e.g. what's right for 160 track driving might not be optimal for say hill climbing. i need to do this right the first time and the gt3 sway seemed perfect in middle setting.

i've just put back on an oem rear and i'm trying like hell to feel a difference. its too soon to say anything conclusive, ( and it'll still all be conjecture not empirical! ) but the rear end felt "lighter" if such a thing is possible!? but it's too soon to tell and i could be imagining it. i didn't go driving like "lets go snap a sway bar!" drive lol

Depends on your definition of driveable. Anything is driveable to a point I guess. And yes, all things equal, a stiffer rear bar alone will by itself absolutely make the car oversteer much more than a softer one. That's one of the reasons why they make them adjustable so you can fine tune the balance of the car.

All things the same yes. The stiffer bar will cause more oversteer but that doesnt mean you should find the softest bar you can either. You have to find the right balance for your setup. The GT3 sways are my preferred setup as well. But im positive i could make stiffer ones work as well. I think a rear is ok for a beginner to moderate de guy but at some point you want to be able to adjust both ends and find the balance that works for you and your driving style. Im sure some others work as well. I just havent tried them.

996 & 986, 26.8mm, 5 pos adj. (#996FSBK-GTS)

this ( if i'm not mistaken? ) is the gt3 copy ( same specs ) that tarret offers at 339. which is roughly half of the oem gt3. i could live with this.,.

is this the lesser expensive option you mentioned upthread? and essentially the same bar? mine was a 4 way adjustable ?!

The 5 way is the front. 4 way is the rear. I believe Tarett makes copies of both.

yeah i need the rear. 4 way. if specs are same all the way around as the gt3 part, i'd do the tarret. i wouldn't see that as a compromise that i'd suffer for.
yes, my bad. the link was the front. i need the rear bar.
