Coolant system question -- need help, please
I recently flushed my coolant system and thought I bled it well as I used both a vacuum system and also Raised the rear end and let her run for a while with the cap off (until coolant started to blow out of the cap)
The last 2 times I drove her, I noticed the release valve sticking up. the system still had pressure as it went down when I loosened the cap.
Can someone please shed some light on why the release valve would be up but not releasing pressure?
Thanks
Scott

i would venture that if it's not releasing pressure it is just because it's not been building any up to release if that clamp has been unclamped?
it could be that simple, and if you're not losing coolant? just snap it back in and keep an eye on it!

The black cap with the tab is not a release valve. It is connected to the vent line off the the oil cooler. I leave that clip locked in the up position. Pressure always seems to be held in the tank in every one I have seen.
^ !? what is it's purpose? to the uninitiated, it looks like anything that vents when "up". which also begs the question, why am i told to run the car and allow it to self pressurize after a coolant flush or a rad replacement,..before snapping it into place. just wondering.
