Road America 1024x768 HD Track Video

Here is another HD video if you are interested.

It is not particularly well driven (especially turns 1, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 14 - didn't miss many there did I ) but it gives a nice view of the track in fall. The car hits 165 mph coming into 1.

Right click on the link and save it to your hard drive. It should play straight up in Windows Media Player. It's 87 meg.

Awesome video Tim! I can't believe how clear the picture came out. What camera are you using?

Coming into turn 1 looks like A LOT of fun.

The camcorder is the new Sony HC-1 high definition camcorder. You should see how nice it looks at 1440 x 1080 compared to the 1024x768 compressed version you are looking at.

Greg: With windows media player it should work fine. If it stutters, dump any running programs or try it on a faster box.

Thanks O-Ace.

got it, beautiful footage! just a suggestion that was handed to me from a couple of road race instructors: when turning, you might want to shuffle the wheel with your hands (keeping them at 10/2, and just sliding the wheel over) as opposed to keeping your hands in roughly the same spots on the wheel and turning them with all of your arms. it generally helps with keeping the steering more steady during turns so you can concentrate on steering with the throttle

Thanks for sharing.
I pulled down the file but unfortunately it's still playing slow & jerky for me.
RA is a hoot........been driving it for years. 165 is fairly exciting coming into one but one is a very fast corner......what gear are you in pulling out of 1 heading for 3?
I use to waste so much time shifting at RA.......with good suspension & tires you can carry very good speeds through many of those corners in higher gears w/ less braking (just my own tales here...I have no idea your gears or braking).
Five & eight are similer and difficult (I spun the turbo at 5 in traffic the 1st season I tracked her.....they got my full attention ).
Your line generally looks good (though slow & jerky on my screen .
IMHO the Turbo (& a modded Turbo) is really in it's element at RA.......personally I have to guard against over confidence......but running these cars on that track is incredible fun.
Thanks again for sharing......I wish I was up there now. .

Color Change, .. fun vid with great quality. it played jerky for me as well but so what. . ... R. A. is a great, beautiful, fast track, one of the fastest in America. (try it on a track bike sometime, lots of fun) .. Have you run it at Autobahn yet? .. i was wondering what tires you were running and what the tire pressure was. .. what is your approx. horsepower? .. additionally, let John Ruther from the Chicago Porsche Club view the vid and i'll bet he'll have some interesting input for you. thanks for putting this up. .. JR
