My buddy linked me to this car. I think it is odd someone would take that car and put the TT engine in it. Personally, I'd rather have the TT.

reading, it's a C4S, so it's basically a turbo sans the motor. I know of two people who have bought C4S's only to realize they wanted a turbo so they threw a built motor in. No biggie :dunno:
That engine swap could get pretty expensive. That guy is smoking something trying to get all his $ back for his mods......
I have been however doing some reaserch on a company out of Pompano FL (Proto-Tech) who does TT conversions. For my car, I could get the whole stage 2 package (Garrett Turbos, Exhaust, Headers, intercooler, spoiler, software, clutch & flywheel and all other necessary componenets for just under $20k) 450hp to the REAR wheels. Their stage 3 and 4's get a bit pricier. They also do all other 911's. Lets see how the year end bonus goes...

it actually may not be that irrational. You can get a C4S for around 40K these days, probably even cheaper soon. Spend 20K on a sick TT motor, you are out 60K. Still less then you'd pay for a 993TT, and with some serious power behind you.

If you want to have some fun and build a toy there's nothing wrong with that, but buying that specific car off eBay for the price he's asking is just plain not worth it. If it was a RWD or based on a narrow-body car I could see some sort of appeal since, excluding the GT2, Porsche never built a turbocharged or narrowbody RWD 993TT.
To me it sure seems like a lot of down time to get the install done, troubleshooting any glitches, resale value vs. time and money invetsed, etc.
It is unique and fun, but I'd rather have a factory car..

OTG, many most likely would. Same reason most would rather buy a stock TT and mod it then buy one already modded
