Put a Deposit on a GT350
After a lot of debate, I have decided to leave the Pcar world for awhile. Part of me has wanted a mustang since the latest 5.0 came out and it seems that the GT350 is the perfect new project for me. I know a mustang will never be as prestigious or attention grabbing as the Porsche, but I simply cannot afford both and want to try something new. Enough rambling, just wanted to share.

Congrats!!! I've also gone the domestic route for a while. After selling my Pcar, my RS6, and me SL65, I've decided it's time to stop the madness. The depreciation on the Euro cars is maddening. I just grabbed a 09 CTS-V sedan.

I went from a Boss 302 to the 997.2 TTS (2012). The boss was an awesome car, but the one thing I will say about the Mustangs (and Fords in general) -- they always have terrible brakes (primarily brake pedal feel). From the SVT Cobra, to the GT500, to the Boss 302 -- all awful. Hopefully the GT350 will be better -- I know the braking power is drastically improved, but hopefully that comes with better pedal feel as well.
I switched to the P car because I wanted something with better traction, better braking, and a better transmission. God that transmission was terrible... though I hear the GT350 will be moving away from the MT-82, so that's good.
Enjoy the move. I'm looking at possibly picking up the GT350R, but probably on the used market at some point when things have come down in price. My TTS is satisfying me for now.... and I'm pretty sure I got a good car for a great price -- 2012 Turbo S w/ $172k MSRP, $121k purchase, 10k miles, factory aero kit, titanium blue full leather interior, aqua blue exterior, turbo ii wheels. Hopefully because of the combination of options it'll sell for a good price when I do part ways with it...the one thing I will say is the cup holders in this car drive me nuts... never thought I would say that.

Most cars are a waste of money and no one is a bigger fool then myself as I have spent way to much over the years. In my defense I no longer feel the need to keep up with the latest and greatest or bigger hp numbers then the next guy. I have had a few older mustangs including a 1969 Mach 1 428cj. The best buy is a older car with the depreciation mostly over like the 996tt or older cady mentioned etc. The new Mustang is great but wait until its a few years old to buy in my opinion.

That is true but If I bought a new whatever in 6 months I wouldn't like it any better then what I have now. I found for me having 4-5 different cars kept me entertained much better then I-2 more newer probably better cars. I in my later years started buying land instead of cars= wish I had started earlier as it has really paid off.

Quite intrigued by the 350 myself. The New Z06 looks incredible with blistering times but still $100k. Wouldn't mind a new track car with a warranty and that flat-plane crank could be awesome- hopefully she's lighter than the Z28.

I know buying a brand new car is terrible investment, but not really looking for a return on my money, just want to try something new and the warranty is a large bonus.
I am excited to try the American route, I have never had an American car!
I am super intrigued by the Z2/8 too. The motor is amazing, but I like the look of the Stang better.
Hopefully the Turbo will without too much hassle.

Saw a GT350 at an auto show today, looked nice! The new CTS-V looks very nice too as did the CTS-V Sport. The Z06 and Z28 and ZL1 also looked really sweet. Sticking with the 996 for now, I'll let others take the deprecation hit...
