When are injectors required over a 5bar FPR?

Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out if there is any point in me going with 60lbs injectors over a 5bar FPR in a 996 Turbo with K16 Billets running anywhere between 1.2 to 1.4 bar of boost on 93octame pump (Haven't spoken to my tuner yet to decide on a boost level). Only other mod affecting this is an exhaust with 100cell cats. Would the tune with the 5bar be safe?

Thanks!

i think it depends on tuner.....more boost or more timing. either way, If you're out of fuel and start to run lean...it's time for injectors.

i've got k16 billets/5bar/IC/exhaust etc
I think i'm at 1.2bar but I can't go more. We've tired a little more boost and it started to run lean...that said I'm not sure if it's worth it for me to go injectors for the additional .1bar.

Hi Markski, are you saying anyone with Billet K16 turbos should not run more than 1.2 bar? Doesn't AMS recommend running them at 1.4? Is 1.2 bar actually the top of their efficiency?

Thanks!

I think he's saying on stock injectors AND FPR not to go over 1.2 on billet k16 upgrades.

Ah ok that makes more sense.

I don't think Tony meant on stock injectors or FPR. He was referring to the limitations of L16billets in general.

Not on a 5 bar with stock injectors. With injectors and proper tune 1.4 is not a problem.

while we're on this topic
what difference are we talking about between 5 bar and injectors?
k16 billet/3.5 coolers/catless exhaust and 93 octane.
I know with the 5 bar....1.2bar is all
If i swap go back to 3.8 bar and add injectors...I can run up to 1.4 bar?
What is this 20-30whp difference?

What size injectors? If fuel delivery is your limiter than upping the injector to the proper size will allow for more airflow until you hit an octane or strength limit..
