I've gotten lots of requests for pictures of my fender-intake system from various threads. I just wanted to post some pictures. These are a full 2.5" tubing setup with a cone filter. Its attached to the turbo with a 90* silicone hose.
The intercooler mounting brackets fit around the base of the filter. It draws air passively from inside of the bumper. I haven't noticed any problems with the setup yet, even in pouring rain. The rubbing you see is just on this side, during very hard cornering. It doesn't rub anymore.
The stock exhaust is just to quiet the car down for the winter.
Looks like GT2RS intercoolers - could you pretty please post pics with them onboard? I'm looking at some BIG intercoolers and want to see how constrained I'm likely to be. I'm not willing to give up my ducting!

don't worry. i have 4.5" i/c and all the upper and lower ducting and run my filters behind them

They are gt2rs intercoolers. I didn't get a pic of them with the intercoolers mounted. Sorry!
Clearance with the intercooler isnt a probelm at all. The clearance issues are with the bracket and the ducting. You could always op for a longer skinnier filter instead of a wider cone filter. I think this filter is 6". Theres no more room for it to get wider, but it can deffinetly get longer.
Yeah, I suspect I'll be running a fairly long filter and as fat as I can find too. the last thing I want is to remove the long intake pipes and choke it with a filter that's too small!
Who did your fender intakes? Cost? I like the oval piping although I may end up with silicone - I'm not sure yet.

A local shop (Cantrell Motorsports) custom fabbed them. They hadn't done these specific ones before, so I was kind of R&D. It was around 1800 all said and done. Its the only full 3" ive seen.

Its not just intake piping. The other side has tubing for letting the crankcase breath. Normally the fumes vent into the intake piping, but without using the intake piping it has to be directed somewhere else. So a large portion of that is running the tubing for the breather.
The pcar is an expensive platform sometimes. Markski sells his intakes for similar pricing.
Really liking your fender intake set up! I'm currently running 2.5" pipes thinking about making the switch to 3" as well.
I don't have any data, but I think that letting air into the fender would be more worthwhile. I'm considering cutting some sort of vents into the fenders to allow more airflow.
Need to look into it more. They could be getting enough air. When I pull my fenders off, the filters have a lot of tire residue in them (like powdered tire). It must be pulling enough air to get the tire dust.
