Living in a dream world......996 turbos are probably one of the slower cars at that event.....as crazy as that may be, just a reality.

GTR's and Lambos are just too fast and faster shifting. Everything there on average is probably 1500+, not one 996 there has that much power or shifting quickness.

2,000+ is where its at now.

2 996s made it through a few rounds of eliminations (BHT and BBI's King King). Def not the slowest there. IIRC, there were only 3 996s & 1-2 997s.

Todd/Kong, your cars were badass! I have some video on my phone (I was the one waving start signals from the timing tent)

I've been waiting for BHTs videos. The top teir guys have 2000+, but that's 1% of the cars there. Plenty of 996s still whoop *** ;-)

We made it to the semi finals in Kongs 997.1. The 996 finally got a clean pass yesterday at around 180mph, but got DQ'd due to an off start.

Started testing our BOTL on the 997.1 and broke an axle on the drag radial. So it is done till it gets DSS axles.

The 996 will be out drag racing if the weather clears up. I will jump back on here to update.

@Cobb: Clean start at 85mph? Every other pass was in the 160's. Still fast. But there's no way it would trap at 180 unless it was starting well above the 70 mark.

First day we had an issue we were trying to track down on the car and it was doing 160s till we sorted out the issue. Turned the boost up yesterday and it went 176 or 178 (I don't remember). I will grab the slip and post it, should have some time since we can't race today Haha.

Kong and BHT are very similar in speeds. But since you qualified in sport class (BHT in Super Sport) because of your low qualifying speeds, how did you trap that speed and not get DQ immediately? The cut off was high 160's for the slower bracket. Kongs 997 was in the sport bracket as well.

Because of the issues we had that is where we were put. It wasn't the right class for the car, so he just didn't break out while racing the second day. In the test and tunes we would run to see what the car could do.

No doubt a fast car. Once you guys work out the gremlins and it runs consistent, it'll start laying the smack down
