So a 6speed member came by and we did a quick boost leak test with my contraption. In this video I did it from the top of the Y pipe bypassing the ICs and hoses... but I strongly suggest you guys do it from the lower boost hoses...
He thought the car was running well as most do... get ready for this video sit back and enjoy...

good video. spray bottle with soapy water will aid in finding this pesky leaks when your doing this as well

 

Not all the time , but true some guys use it .

 

Old windex bottle with hand soap and water goes a long way. One thing didn't leak was the black check valve in back otherwise it would cover most issues.

 

good find, I bought Boost leak tester from markski few months back, its a good tool! saves you money and time, before tune !

 

didn't mean it as a replacement but rather as an additional aid to your testing. I'm about half deaf and can't hear as good as seeing the bubbles to find the leaks

I’m planning on dropping my engine sometime in the near future to do a clutch plus other things. Going to do a once over. I noticed that my Forge DV hose has crack marks on the bend that connects to the nipple. Seems like the + Batt terminal is not spaced high enough which caused some rubbing. (By who ever installed in previously.)

Before I move the engine, I’ll see if I can do a before and after test.

Now u guys see what needs to be done and most shops don't even have boost leak tester. Smoke tests are usually low pressure and do not find all the drama.
