Valentine One Question (and EZ PASS )

I picked up the new 750Li and the windshield is coated with some heat resistant /reflective layer. My I-Pass doesn't seam to work at all, and neither does my V1.

Does Valentine have a setup where the sensors are outside somewhere? ANyone here have this?

ALso, anyone mount the IPass in their hood or somewhere else that will pick up the signal?

Thanks

For the I-Pass:

You can purchase a license plate tag transponder if your windshield has a coating, but it needs to be mounted to the front plate (which you probably don't want to do). Maybe you can place it somewhere else on the car. Here are the instructions at the bottom:

For the radar detector:

I believe there is a small square cut out in the windshield coating at the very bottom and center of the windshield, where you can mount the radar detector.

Solution #1 = Ask Mike

Solution #2 = Roll down the window, stick your hand with the EZ Pass

^ Yes Shank owns all those cars currently !

Shank,
I had a similar problem on my car, and i had the dealer mount the Ipass under my hood by the front grill somewhere. It always works now ! My MB dealer did it for free too !

be careful as i'm not sure the window mount models are weather proof. three failure to pays in FL and then they start mailing you tickets.

You can get a V1 remote kit from here for $795.00:

http://www.radarjammertechnology.com...ne-1/index.php

It moves the sensors to the outside of the vehicle in waterproof cases.

There is usually an area of the windshield that isn't covered with the material, just for this reason.

My mom's 745 has the same coating and we found the same issues with V1. Get the car in sunlight and look from the outside up toward the rearview. there is a "window" of filmless area where the V1 should be located. I believe there is also one on the lower edge of the windshield as well, just can't remember exactly where. I searched on a bimmer forum about this when mounting hers. Can't remember the site though. Great looking 7--love the 21s.

If you look on the windsheild by the rear view mirror you can see where you can put the EZ PASS they leave the film off on ethier side of the mirror. At least that is the way it is on my dads 745.

Hey Shank,
I got the license plate ez pass and put it under the hood, works perfectly. As for the V1 detector, there is a cut out between the two humps on the dash.
