I do not want to ruin your party as I am a heavy modder myself (for example, have already my third gearbox, also third brakes, third suspension, second body kit, THIRD paint etc). Ooops.

Before you start a tip -> manual conversion project, make SURE you kind of know what you are doing.

I would start only when you know the facts about changing also ECU, instruments, wirings, pedals etc. etc.

If you really got the car with a good price, perhaps sell it forward and continue looking for manual cars...Anyways good luck!

ME7 should have no issue be re-coded to 'manual' while doing a 'tune', has been done on other brands for years. But of course will talk with my tuner before to confirm this is possible on our 996 platform.
Completely aware of the long parts list, but view it as an opportunity to run the GT/Cup/aftermarket parts we want without having already 'prepaid' for stock parts like on a 6spd car...why I made the 'joke' earlier about skipping the (IMO) junk stock clutch hydraulics, and shifter setup, and already having the Tip/GT2 pump.
The aerokit is nice too
Again appreciate the feedback
Solely a cost/selection reason for this car, once the title/keys are in dad's hands I might post the purchase price and pics...
Cheers,
Rob

off the top of my head you need clutch and brake pedal box, trans, clutch, flywheel, cables, shifter, console, neutral safety switch, slave setup, master cylinder , reservoir, power steering pump and reservoir(if your not using the gt2 setup) petosin lines from the reservoir. the trans will seem cheap after pricing all this!

I eat/sleep/breathe this stuff, so if we decide to move forward on the swap it will have been thoroughly researched/planned/executed.
I solve a fair number of technical issues that dealers/other specialists can't/caused...some are scary BTW! lol
We have thought about just leaving it as-is and enjoying the car, will see what our research tells us...so far thanks to real-life feedback here and on RL I know 6/7GT2 box sale prices are too high for this project

you might talk to vantaradoc on here. he had renntech rebuild his auto and he loves it. said it was built to handle high hp and less than 1/5 of what the manual swap would be. might be worth a look

probably won't do to much for power on this one, tune + exhaust, so probably won't need to mess with a auto trans build if we keep it. Just a cruiser/DD car
