Ohlins DFV + Tarett Drop Link = Binding & Bending?

Still trying to complete the install of my coilovers, eibach sways, and tarret drop links but we've hit a snag. The original tarett drop links in the front we installed we discovered had been binding when the steering wheel was moved side to side and were actually bent after maybe 2 miles of driving.

I've attached pictures of my setup below and where it's binding. Tarett seems to be out of ideas at this point on how to fix it. We've installed 2 washers to try and space it out further and installed the link on the swaybar on the outside to give us more clearance but now we're kind of at the point where the OEM drop links might be the only thing that clears.

I've never heard of this, nor had it reported from other Ohlins guys on here or any other Tarett users so has anyone encountered this? Or anyone see anything incorrect we could fix or alter?

Thinking I need a curved front drop link like the TRG?

I believe the issue is your drop link should be installed on the outside of the sway bar, not the inside as the pictures show. Hope this helps.

Thanks. We originally had it that way and it was worse. We got more clearance having it installed how it is. But I appreciate the recommendation.

I'm running the Ohlins street/track and Tarett extended drop links with gt3 sway up front with no issues. I see from picture that your extended drop link mount looks different from what my Tarett looks like. Could that me the issue?

Looks like you are using the Ohlins supplied drop link mount if I'm not mistaken. I'm using the Tarett extended drop link with mount.

^^^ Yea I think that is my only solution left. I was using the Ohlins supplied mount which Tarett says is compatible but apparently isn't.

I guess i'll try and get the full extended kit like you mentioned.

Had the exact same problem with your exact setup with the Ohlins and Tarrett extended droplinks and tophats. Completely bent the Tarrett droplinks on turning the steering wheel. Tarrett had no idea and said it was an installer problem. First installer could not figure out how to correct it, so I ended up going with the OE droplinks. Then I went to GMG in Santa Ana and they installed the appropriate spacers and problem solved. Not sure why Tarrett is unware of this as it appears I am not the only one with a problem with the Tarrett extended droplinks bending. However, once installed, absolutely no complaints.

I just did this almost exact install on my car. The only difference was I retained the stock front swaybar and went with an Eibach rear and have put about 200 miles on the car . I'll have to put car on jacks tonight to see the state of my droplinks.

Very interesting! So you kept the Tarett links but you just spaced them out? We have 2 washers on ours and still hitting - any idea how many spacers were used or the approximate adjustment needed?
