Hi guys,

I have the cold side K16 billets from Sam. I havent installed them yet due to the oil lines being an issue as I have to heat them up to remove them. I did get the billet check valves to replace the stock units when I do remove them.
So is ceramacoat worth the $150 a turbo to do the hot side inside and out by a reputable turbo shop in my hometown?

Pros and cons?

 

I doubt it. I would just run a turbo blanket it it was up to me.

 

ceramacoat ... isn't that like .. zero clearance back in the day? lol

 

Save money for mods that will give you real gains. This will go totally unnoticed.

I hear ya Sam! I am really concerned about the oil lines getting screwed up. How hard are those to replace? Can you splice into them with aircraft quality SS? Thanks for the Ceramacoat comments BTW.....
I know you guys said to super heat them. When I attempted to gently without heating the line twisted with the flange nut. Seeems if they did get damaged that tying into them would work as long as the overall distance of the line wasnt increased.
Thoughts?

I had zero clearenced k04/k16's on my b5 s4 from buhen engineering. They were called buhen bombs and yes they exploded.

 

You can swap those oil lines for braided stainless I believe. Someone figured out the parts list and posted awhile back - braided brake lines work with some fittings as I recall

 

hit up Sam and ask for the SRM turbo feed lines
