We paint these often...kind of makes you wonder...although I like 'em, the pricing is insane for what it is.

Go for the front end.

Goes to show you the 997 lights would have been better looking shaped more oval. i know purists like round but I'm partial to 996 and think the front proportions on 997 are off overall.

It is funny, I think the 996 Turbo headlights are the sexiest headlights on any year 911 ever made and with the 997 intro, they have effectively made the 996 the bastard child.

Furthermore, if you look at the rest of the auto manufacturers out there, there lights are getter larger and larger. Porsche went retro with the 997. Hmm.

The sunny-side up egg look of the earlier, non xenon 996 lights are still fugly. Porschephiles will argue this for the next 50 years but ours will go down in history as unique!

Ehh, I like 997 front end much more. The 996, while beautiful, doesn't look anywhere near as clean, and the fact that the 997 went back to the 993 style was a good moove IMHO.

The 996 lights on the 2002 - 2004 are very Distinctive. They are they ONLY lights that are not similar to the Boxster (incl'g the 997).

I have seen the light covers installed and they are VERY apparent that they are an after thought. The lines are not flush with the bumpers, etc.
