These new generation wheels are highly efficient as they are designed to flow 1.6bar in the 7GT2RS. He then ports the housing inlets to increase air flow to the hot side. There are a lot of man hours that go into this. The zero clearance process on the cold side is a hard coating that is applied to the walls of the compressor housing. As such, there is a fairly involved 1000mile break in with slowly increasing boost. What this does is allow the compressor wheel to slowly wear it's own pathway into the coating on the walls of the compressor housing which virtually eliminates blow by and increases the efficiency of the compressor. The turbos are essentially hand made. The zero clearance process is optional (I think $1000 extra if I recall) but a must in my opinion. Finally, the turbos are built with Kevins wastegates which are tailored to his programming.

For my application, the turbos were built with slightly different tolerances that what he would use on a mainly street driven turbo. The reason for this was to account for the increased temperatures and stresses the turbocharger will see during prolonged track use.

Kevin sells these turbos with his programming which is fine tuned for each individial applications via datalogs that you send him. He emails you a new file that you download to the ecu. This is basically industry standard except that Kevin uses his own proprietary datalogger which is similar to durametric. The base entry level package is one that uses a 5bar fpr which requires the programming to be detuned due to the lack of fueling. The next step up is the package that uses Kevins injectors with the stock 3.8fpr. This is the way to go vs. the 5bar in my opinion. Larger turbo intake piping along with 997.2 intercoolers is highly recommended along with a higher flowing fuel pump. A low restriction exhaust is required. On Kevin's advice, I also installed OEM ported headers. With stock internals, he reduces the low end torque through his programming to protect the rods. The whole package is not cheap but Kevin's attention to detail is fanatical and the end result is a set up that is just plain rips while remaining safe, 100% street legal, and with better than OEM drivability.

Oh, a 764Sachs pressure plate for the clutch is also a must... I can dig up some pics of the turbos later and post them up..
man, those sound tasty. it's definitely the route i would ( will? ) take once and if my old 16/24s give out. on the one hand i feel i need to stop reading of all the parts you add, if i can't get them myself as i know your car is light years ahead of mine in spite of my desire to have it similarly setup either that or i need to go back to work.

so i'm following on the needed 7.2 ic's ( planned ) 60lb injectors with the 3.8 fpr? and a file to match? are you running the 044 pump? or the dual (?? is that right? ) setup. that begins to get complicated for me, but injectors are on my list for the ic's ( and hoped to get the manthey's also ..hint lol ). i have modded headers from the speed shop that has been selling these kits for as long as kevin has but i don't think they have gotten quite as detailed when it comes to porting them etc.

this is fantastic food for thought for at the risk of my continuing obsequiousness .. your car IS the benchmark as far as i am concerned. i'll NEVER spend that kind of bread to sunroof delete though .. but could see at least a carbon hood in my future

pics would be great if they're available. i've always felt i would hit up umw for his parts and expertise, now i know why. thx again.
