I wonder if anyone ever got lucky with o2 spacer/bung - on 996s, to eliminate CE light, I dont feel like swapping my exhaust back to stock, my emissions are due, and i think thats the only option i got.

Try those 90 Deg O2 extenders...those may give you the best shot and just reset the ECU before you test. It usually takes about 7-8 cycles for the CEL to come on. Good luck!

I have cleared codes with extenders but with the visual inspections I doubt they would pass here in Pa, I used these years ago now keep my cats on lol.

911MTB is infamous around these parts
I used them in mine and they worked perfectly. I put them in last summer, passed my smog test and no CEL's since.

What kind/brand are you using 911MTB? Just to make sure everyone can see what works.

Evo8 I should get it by the end of this week- I'm going to test it and see if they work. - it also depends on a tune/exhaust system etc, it may not FIX - but its worth a try! lol, I have one spacer allready on the car, but still throws CE, so i'm going to test them.

Just talked to my smog guy here in CA. He said you can get away without any CEL lights on your dash, and be dumb and happy, but once hooked up to the actual smog machine via OBD, you'll fail if there isn't a differential reading between the two O2 sensors. It can detect if the cat is present/functional.

These are the bungs I used:
Amazon.com: O2 Sensor Spacer Adapter Extender: Automotive Amazon.com: O2 Sensor Spacer Adapter Extender: Automotive

Here in Ontario Canada the smog test is done through the OBDII port and mine passed without issue. Part of it passing is making sure you drive your car a significant distance and various conditions before the test. If it tests "Not Ready" you fail the smog test.
