Turbo 'timer" ??
I have to warn you. I had a turbo timer on an Rx7 Turbo II in colege. It prevented my factory alarm form activating and I thought nothing of it... until my car was stolen and was found completely gutted with no engine, tranny, seats, hood etc.. you get the point. Whatever you do, don't risk losing your car to save the turbos.

Heya Spidey,
James and I rigged one up to my car last year and although it worked there is no wiring harness available for our cars to make it simple like on the Japanese Cars. Sadly you have to cut, splice etc... and we could never actually get it to function fully to set the alarm. Instead we'd have to manually set it....

dont' bother with t timer. they often fail and keep roast the turbo!
just let it run 30 sec - 2 min after a drive, depending on how hard you were driving. I usually go easy on the turbo when I am about to park it.

Another reason that comes into play involves the 6spd 996TTs. Because it has to idle, you must put your parking brake up and your car in neutral (you can wire it so that the turbo timer will not come on unless your parking brake is up). However, if you park on a hill, most people, myself included, like to put it in 1st/reverse as well as apply the parking brake. It is very easy to put the car in gear and forget to turn off the turbo timer if you are in one of those situations. The combination is not good...
With the price of our cars, I wouldn't risk not arming the alarm.
If someone wants your car they are going to take your car. All you need is a flatbed and a false work report. I had a turbo timer on my old S4 and had to lock the car with the key not with the remote and the alarm lights still flached after the car was turned off. Bad thing about the turbo timer is that all you need to sleal a car with a turbo timer is some one watching you and then when you leave you car they center punch your side windo and your car is ready to go you can keep adding time to the timer and the car will not turn off. I had two friends that this happened to in PHX.
