Question Best brake pads

So I have decided to do the 997 350mm Rotor Upgrade as Mike Tibbets at VividRacing has given me a great deal on the upgrade that I just could not refuse.

Yes I know I should be getting GiroDiscs but the exchange rate is a joke then add shipping down under I cant justify the Giros when i'm not at the track that often.

Plus I'm studying at the moment finishing my Masters Mariners Degree.
Being ashore so long doesn't go well for a seafarer another reason why i'm even more broke than usual.

So the back to the point of my post

what are the best performance street pads available for standard 996T calipers that will handle occasional track days but do not cost the earth ????

Cheers Men.

Tim

KA Motorsport is infamous around these parts
What tracks do you go to?

We run the Brembo HP2000 pads on most of our hard street driven cars and they are able to handle a little track duty.

Queensland raceway and Morgan Park in Australia but not often.

Mainly fast street and up in the hills as we have no canyons in Australia well at least nothing I could honestly call a canyon.

PM me details of your Pads if you dont mind

Stick with OEM Tim... If you wanna spend some money, Endless MX72 are excellent street/track pads...

No worries Tim. You can't go wrong with OEM for the most part for your type of use and they're reasonably priced. It's ridiculous that a set of race pads now cost a $1K per set for these cars..

Check out Carbotech for race pads, significantly cheaper and work as well or better than other brands. I have them in my car and we also use them for endurance racing. They give a discount for LeMons and Chump racers if you call.

Is that what we are calling him now?? If you have a look in my garage right now at my little pile of upgrades that will be installed soon, in one way or another I have selected them at least in part to The Hounds guidance... as well as other guys on here including '02996ttx50

Just the other day I wanted to "over part" my clutch with a 1000hp kit...lol...and now thanks to the guys on here I'm looking at GT2 clutch disc and 764 pressure plate as a perfect match for my power goals.

This place is a double edge sword...on the one hand the more time you spend here the more upgrades you want to do...but on the other hand with soo much experience on here from all the long term owners you definitely get the best bang for your buck!!

The hound is a very cool name imo! Johns car is first class and well thought out, also he's never boastful condescending or rude.
