Car Wobbling Under Hard Acceleration

I've had a issue start to crop up i've noticed over the summer get progressively worse. Under hard acceleration at WOT in 3rd gear the rear end of the car starts move right to left back and forth. It's not a vibration but like a fishtailing action that makes the car feel very unstable. At first I thought it was just road conditions but i've now experienced it a handful of times on different sections of roads and various conditions.

I thought it might be my air pressures but I checked and both PSS's in the rear are at 39.0PSI so it's consistent left to right. It occurs and there is no wheel spin or PSM intervention.

Anyone had similar occurrences or have any ideas?

I have experienced this also,
since then i've replaced my rears had H&R's installed and a proper alignment done.
I've had to car upto 140 ish and its been pretty stable.

Get your suspension checked out, tires balanced and aligned again if needed, check the INSIDE wear on your tires, the metal strands were showing on the inside of my old tires.

Yes. I've had the same experience with PSS tires. Everything is new so I'm not sure what the cause is either. Going to try and get a new alignment and see if that helps.

Solid thrust arm bushing for your rear LCAs are your friend....

I had a weird issue that was similar but not regulated to hard acceleration. Mine would feel a little wander-y.

Alignment helped a small bit, put new rear tires on, but didn't seem to help that much either. Ended up replacing my motor mounts with Porsche RS mounts and it cleaned it up.

My assessment was near done motor mounts.

Ok good suggestions guys. I've got RSS Engine mounts sitting here for install and i'll have them put it back on the rack for another alignment.

I'm wondering if things settled slightly since the coilover install throwing the alignment out. I've only got about 2k on the PSS's so the wear still looks good and it looks fairly consistent over the entire tread pattern.

Wanted to avoid the solid thrust arm bushings but i'll look into that as well.

I've had the same issue and done some research. It appears that the rear toe arm eccentric cam bolts slip, causing your toe to get out of spec.

If you go get the alignment redone, it will fix your issue until the adjuster slips again. It appears the that the part below is the best way to fix the issue.

We have a relatively short wheelbase so it's especially sensitive to rear toe and thrust angle.

Mine had this same issue when I bought it. Turns out it was 3 things. Replaced inner and outer front tie rods. Aligned it. Took 90% of the issue away. Replaced the tires as they were mis matched and worn. Car is 100% stable now.

Hope that helps

When the tires are like this they contribute to what you are experiencing.

This is what you want your tire wear to look like... These were full tread when new...

These may fix your issue as well. Given the price, I may give them a try.

993man is infamous around these parts
I know this is an old thread, but I experienced this today in my Turbo.

It's never happened before. The roads were good and dry.
The boost was moderate, but not full on if you know what I mean. But I did give it some.

Could it possibly be the PSM kicking in to stop her breaking loose?

Cheers
