I'd hate to hear what happened to your headlights and paint.....

Well a new one cost around $400 or so if I can recall..... Sorry I'm at home and don't have my pricing tools here......

On comprehensive insurance you can claim sand damage. Get all new glass and new paint on the front of the car. Find a decent body shop and call your insurance company.

I believe the glass can be polished. Griot's garage sells one.

it happened on the way back from willow springs. The good news is it was the elise not the gt2. the paint is rough on the lower part of the hood and the clear bra on the bumper is bad. i polished out the hood the clear bra will need to be replaced. the headlight covers are pocked up but i may wait on them. The problem with replacing the windshield is you have to remove the front clam to get it out not simple. Do windshild repair shops polish windshields?? thanks carl

Carl,

Saw a windshield going in an Elise -- they did not have to remove the clam to do the install. Silver Star uses a glass shop that has already done several Elises at their shop.

That's where I live!! That is DEFINITELY a sand damage area, and an insurance company will cover it. Honestly, I usually get a new windshield every year because it gets all chipped and pitted.

The blast didn't last for more a minute or two and it trashed the windshield. I now know to stay on the main hys when the wind is blowing. carl

The drive down hwy 14 from willow springs to lancaster SUCKS! You'll actually be quartering into the wind to stay straight on the road, and then you go under a bridge and the car shoots sideways because there's no more wind. I hate being stationed here.

Oh yeah. This place was made for summer performance tires. The rainy season is usually two weeks long.
