Pdk into 996tt??

A few questions for anyone that may know.

-is there a standalone that runs a PDK?

-Anyone swap one into a 6speed 996tt yet?

I build automatic transmissions, and was tossing up ditching my 6speed/ERP setup. Just researching to see if anyone has real info or experience.

I might just ditch the 6 speed and go TipTronic. Idk. Just throwing around ideas and researching things.

If you got it to mate and fit correctly I seriously doubt you could get the programming.

I had a tiptronic from a C2 (RWD only) I was going to rebuild and put in my turbo but it seemed like the hang up was going to be the programming

I agree the computer would have to match up? Doubt it would work without a lot of headaches.

You need to do more research and 98% of people on here what know anything about this on this forum. The pdk transmission is PERMANENETLY sealed, never meant to be opened or built. If it broke u need to replace. Pdk only handles up to like 650wtq and that's it. Championmotorsport looked into doing a pdk build, they cut one open and needless to say the idea was tossed not long after....

Good info, I was just curious. I wouldn't mind trying a TipTronic swap. But I'm not finding the upgrade parts that anyone will sell me outright. Guess I gotta keep looking.

I just dislike this 6 speed in these cars, shifts like crap. I miss my tremecs. Lol

how about some different gear ratios.. a taller 1st maybe and etc.. and maybe an sqs? lol. bet you wouldn't hate that! would cost less than trying to retrofit. have someone build ya a box.. and get a sequential. that'd be a blast.

hard to imagine you'd enjoy a tip?! blech..but pdk, different story. cant blame ya for thinking about it.

if you do a tiptronic you have a mercedes transmission. southern hot rods or paramount performance can get what ever you need for it to handle 1000 hp. they build big power for mopar builds that run the m/b transmission

Absolutely! They are experts on these tranny's and they guarantee some serious power!

The parts are out there, no doubt. The aren't any good inclusive rebuild kits so ul have to put it together yourself. The 722.6 internals are nearly identical to what is found in the Mercedes 722.6. Iv got one in pieces currently from a C2. From ring and pinion to sun gears, K2, K3, B1, B2 housings Iv got it.

Switching ring and pinion gear ratios likely won't work either for 2 reasons. 1 you can't just go buy an after market ring and pinion for this car and again, the computer is going to be a major issue.
