Fabryce, can you give a little more info on your rollbar vs. the Tequipment bar?

My brother and I installed one in his C2, that's a non issue. The problem arises during install if you bang it against the headliner enough you could damage it on the underlying structures, that's not a big deal if you're careful. BTW the teq bars are designed for all 996 cars, not just GT3's, the 3's actually have their own unique cage(GT3 6 -point motorsport roll cage not teq roll bar) that might cause a problem in a non 3.

Remember to raise the sunroof to the vent position when installing...this will help to keep damage to a minimum

Don't discard the thought of the Tequipment piece...it is beautifully made, just make sure it is installed by a seasoned prof.
Can anyone say "butcher"... If you left marks in 3 out of 4 cars you have no business touching a Porsche. Just the fact that you would advertise that is reason enough for no one to ever let you touch their car. I trully hope you do not earn a living as a mechanic. By the way to everyone out there. The tecquipment bar is baisicly cosmetic. I would not suggest it if you are driving the car in a way that a roll bar could be necessary. Personally I think a full cage is a much better choice. Plus then you can watch chicks wearing skirts struggle to get in the car...

Can anyone say "a-hole"... Just the fact you would comment on an install by a person you have no background knowledge of in such a harsh manner is disturbing. We all have our bad days and maybe this was one of yours but you should step back from the keyboard before launching the missle. I read one of your other posts ( Sorcerer post from this summer ) and it seems you don't have too many nice things to say about alot of things. If these are being done after a **** day maybe the O & A FU board is a better 1st stop to purge the toxins before stopping here.

Ron does unbelievable work with a level of perfection a diamond cutter would envy. It is too bad that people who tell the truth get slammed............... it shouldn't be easier to lie.

First of all Mr. Vipertesstarossa and Mr. Tme. I have installed many roll bars including the tequipment piece. Second of all I don't post much on the board because I am a mechanic and don't have time to sit and b.s. on a website. Before people go crazy about that comment understand that I think this website is great and is a wonderful tool for porsche owners to communicate and have a sense of community. What I am trying to say is I am busy working on cars and trying to earn a living and don't have much time to sit and talk about them on the internet. Often times my writing can be misinterpreted if the reader doesn't know me or my personality. I was not trying to be a dick, but the tequipment bar is super easy to install and I cannot even begin to imagine how someone could destroy a headliner in the process. Maybe I was a bit harsh and I appologize, just one of those days and was in a bad mood. By the way tme maybe you should read all of my posts before you pass judgment. The post about the Ruf thing the guy was totally out of line making such a big stink about one of the most highly regarded tuners in the business before they had even reached an out come. The play by play was rediculous..

Some of you wanted some specific information on the GMG GT Cup Harness- Roll Bar.

The T-equipment roll bar design is not bad- actually pretty good and functional in a roll over situation.. Building on that our bar is an evolution of that design.

That being said.. Here are some of the key features of our bar-

*4130 ChromeMoly tubing that is tig welded- all welds are normalized for added strength and rigidity.

*Available for Sunroof equipped 996 C2-c4 and 996TT cars and Non Sunroof Equipped cars GT2 and GT3.

*Additonal cross brace in rear - for added stiffness and support

*Provision for harness clip - in kit ( no need to drill holes on the floor)

* Bolts in like the factory T Equipment bar-

*Our bar is designed to work with the reclining seats both standard and sport- As many of you know if you are 5,9 and over and have installed the T-equipment bar you cant move seat back far enough to get the proper leg room you need. Our bar solves this by allowing you the full travel of the seat base.

*GMG GT Cup harness/roll bar will obviously work with ALL fixed back seats including the Euro GT3 "elephant ear" style seats many of you have.

*Standard finish is satin black or bavarian silver powder coat-
*Optional colors are available to match your car...

** We also do complete roll cages for street or track - in house.

If you have any more questions please feel free to email me directly. Hope that answers some questions...........
