Rattles!

Does anyone have experience with rattles coming from what seems like the rear side panels (both sides)? Possibly speaker mounts? How about a rattle-prone sunroof panel when the sunroof is open and I'm going over 70 or so.

It's not the seats or seat belt mounts. Don't think it's the glass, but have not absolutely ruled that out. Occurs with rear seats up and down.

It's driving me nuts and I can't bring myself to sit in the rear while someone else drives. Just trying to avoid the hassle of it all.

Any tips/suggestions welcome.

Happy holidays

My 01TT rattles a little from the right door panel only. I`ve got lowering springs and the ride is more harsh than stock. I removed the door handle and tightened the 2 torx and 1 phillips screws and it helped it out a little. I plan on removing the entire panel and tightening everything inc speakers etc. Bear in mind Porsche recomends replacing the spring clips for the door panels. Removal inst is on Rennlist or Renntech, Mike

boltnbrew,
Its under warranty, let the dealership repair it.

I bet its the door latch, also the rear 1/4 window might have too much movement, they can install foam rope to the surrounds of the window, inside the seal.

I get some noise from my headliner on both sides also. I am going to let the dealer fix this though. I have also had them fix rattles in my doors also. It was loose speaker enclosures. The fixed them up well though.

I had the headliner "rattle" on hot days. Dealer said that one of the headliner clips or wires that support it was rattling when it got too hot inside. They fixed it and now i tend to leave sunroof slighly open on hot days .

Thanks to all for your comments. I tend to turn my own wrench, but it is still under warranty. Just not something I wanted to hassle over. I'll have them check it out when I go in for something else.

Do the quarter windows really have that much play in them?? If they did, they should have made them so they could vent- like the 3 series BMW's from the 2002 to the E-36's.

Thanks again.

Glenn
