geez, not with a picture like that!? what WERE they thinking 39k with a wheel hanging of the side?

salvage titles frighten me and i'm not usually put off easily given the sturdiness of these cars. but thats just plain stoopid.

That's the problem he didn't show that picture. If you read his description he says he spoke with the original owner and it was just the fender that needed replacing. And the pic he shows of the damage is just the fender off. No others.

Yeah I was surprised it was salvage with fender damage. Now I see why with those other pics.

Not just the axle, look at the crease in the rear quarter panel above the intercooler intake. This could indicate the unibody was tweaked too.

Definitely asking way too much money IMHO.

Why would you even consider this car when there are plenty for sale without a salvage title for better prices than that?

Did anyone else follow the Bring A Trailer auction for the 2001 flood damage salvage title turbo that sold for $35,500? http://bringatrailer.com/listing/200...che-911-turbo/
It had 33k miles on the odo and looked like it was a well done refurb.
The auction generated I think the most comments BAT has ever had on a single listing...........except for maybe the 356 that was pulled out of a lake and the only way you could tell it was a 356 was by the shadow it created. It had over 200 comments as well.
There has been a few other 996 turbos that have gone through the BAT auction that I was surprised sold for what the final price was.

That was crazy, but then the black one with 79k, clean title went for 38k with buyers fees, which was even crazier. Still don't get that one, a great buy for the winning bidder.

Yeah I was surprised that black one, although had no options, sold for so little. The Hans Mezger autograph was a nice touch as well.

Oh, this guy. This car has been making the rounds. I recall another thread either here or on Rennlist talking about it. looks like it's sold now. Low miles but I would be hesitant to touch it. I picked up my vehicle with almost double the miles but for just a few thousand more.

not only that, someone photo-chopped last picture, on ebay. Sick that people actually do such a shady crap. 32k for salvage? lord. that car needs to be in the junkyard , sold for parts. feel sorry for who ever bought that car.
