I know, this is why I have carbon-wrap on mine. I would put a proper carbon bonnet on but as I understand it, a quality finish one doesn't exist and cost is into 5,000$. Unless things have changed?

This is incorrect. Another myth put to bed.

Thanks pwdrhound. I am now less concerned about painting it.
Some of the confusion may be because the 997 turbo hood (and doors) are aluminum.
