AFR/Lambda Question
AFR/Lambda Question
I have a 2003 turbo that is stock, except for an EPL tune. I do not have a Durametric to log with but I do have the DashCommand app that registers a few key metrics.
My idle AFR is 14.4:1 and my WOT in 3rd gear AFR averages at 11.08:1 (high of 11.62:1 and low of 10.70:1 during the few pulls I have done). Does this seem to be too rich at WOT or does it seem reasonable?
Thanks!

My EPL tune is a bit rich also. I should be sending Tony my car wash bills, LOL.
I sent tony some logs and he said it was fine.
Can you record the AFRs timing and rpm etc., if so send tony the logs to review doesn't have to be durametric.

Perfect, thanks guys. Everything on the car seems to be running great but was just curious about this.
I will send Tony what I can log and get his thoughts too.

Fuel changes won't make a ton more power in my experience and going lean can have "bad" consequences. Timing is where most power is made. Slap a car on a steady state dyno*, hold a load, and you can move fuel around a point or so and see small changes, move timing and changes are much greater. I'm okay with a rich tune under power but want it lean for cruise
*DynoDynamics are awesome for this, I badly wish I had regular access to one these days!

too rich, probably 0.8 lambda or 11.76 AFR would be a good and still safe/rich enough target even for 1000hp.
you are waisting fuel and power with low11/high10s. also no need for 14.4 as 14.7 works best, can you see also AFR target ?
