I have straight pipes and I like loud cars but I think it's a little too loud as well. I am always worried about getting pulled over around town. Next exhaust I'll do an x-pipe with resonator at least.
I don't drive it, but it could be bad four our 5 year old
true about getting pulled over ~ I used to have 96 Cobra with X-Pipe that thing was loud, 24/7
I always can go back to TechArt I do even have stock exhaust as well.

straight pipes here too.
1) do I need re-tune - most likely not.
2) will i loose hp - hell no, you'll pick up power.
3) is it bad for the turbos? No not at all.
I don't track the car and I don't mind the noise - Straight pipes will be the true test of this statement.
I feel like sound is better with bigger turbos vs stockers...for some reason I have less drone with my bigger t3 turbochargers. These motors have a raspy/clacky tone...so you will need to get used to it. It's not going to sound like some thundering V8 or some euro exotic v10 yada yada.

Agree 100% with this statement. That said, we make them for event guys that want the highest flowing, lightest set-up. The tradeoff is poor quality sound coupled with excessive drone.

John, do make resonators for your 3inch x pipe system? If so, could you PM me the price? May be the happy medium for me.
Don't waste your money on straight pipes with stock turbos. I added them on stock turbos, it actually hurt power and the car stalled constantly (which may be fixed in the tune). There's no reason to run them on stock turbos, they don't make enough power to make a difference and the drone in the cabin is deafening and the sound is horrible.
I run straight pipes on a stock car and I love it. I like all my cars loud. Cold start is really loud, but quiets down in a minute or so. I don't care about the 1 hp loss and the turbos spool up quicker anyway. Plus sound cool :-) I never changed my tune, the car never stumbled or had any other issues for 40000 miles.
Yes we do. You can either have them in place of cats (they look like a cat) or on the legs of the X-Pipe, which can be then be configured either catless or catted. I will PM prices.

A lot of has to do with the overall design and all aspects of the system working together to eliminate drone. We produce an X-Pipe with no mufflers at all and virtually no drone. Several customers have come back and told us our 2.5 X-Pipe has "no drone whatsoever". And it sounds fantastic.
