I have go thru the hesitation issue 5 years ago, it was fine to drive, but once you get into boost, around 5000rpm it would backfire and hestitated. It was a real painful investigation for 3 months.

As per advised, coils and plugs(replaced not less than 3 times during the period), MAF old and new interchange at the road side. Header, intercooler hoses and almost all vacuum hoses were replaced.

Finally, it was the first thing we checked, the fuel pump, it just didnt totally gone, but in centain rpm it didnt provide enough fueling and it wasnt happening all the time...

Will replace plugs and coils shortly and will keep this in mind if the problem persists...thank you for sharing your experience.

Well...here you have it. Had a friend hook up an analyzer to the OBD port then took the car out on the highway. Within a few hundred yards most cylinders took their turn misfiring. New plugs and coils being installed next week. Suspect I will see a major improvement in performance.

Changed out plugs and coils... plug electrodes all worn flat on both sides leaving a .045 gap on each side. Found 8 ounces of oil in the left intercooler.....off to the repair shop it goes :-(

That gap is way to much for plugs.

Bought the car in January. Previous owner kept no records and likely never changed the plugs or coils. Figure oil in intercooler coming from bad seal in turbo so removed the turbo and sent it off for a reseal.
