Functional Front Aero?

If using the GT2 or RUF bumper, I would also add Joe's dive planes. They work. The RUF bumper has an effective splitter built in already. I using the GT2 bumper, I would add Joe's removable splitter to it.
Additionally, make sure your car has about 20mm of rake in the chassis. This helps a lot.

On another note, i just scored a minor damaged OEM GT2 bumper for $700 shipped. Only cost me $250 for a proper invisible repair. Just gotta keep a keen eye on ebay.
It's funny you mention the "proper ducting part". The 6cup center radiator ducting is a joke. Many gaps and such. Would be interesting to see what they would do with the center radiator duct to the bumper grille exit cleaned up.

Porsche remedied this on the GT2 where they added the "chimney" that attaches to the back of the center radiator and directs the air out the top up and over the hood. RUF uses this same exact GT2 part (along with all the GT2 hoses) as part of their bumper assembly. You can see it in the picture below. This is the part I was referring to when I said you want to make sure it is sealed up nice and tight to the back of the center radiator for maximum efficiency. If you have the RUF bumper with all the RUF supplied supporting parts, you can easily swap to the GT2 bumper by simply changing the front radiator ducts. Everyhing else is basically identical.

Nice score.
Powdr, I understood that the Ruf bumper only came with/needed a few parts to install and function properly. How many parts does it come with and are all the parts OEM parts?
The list of parts I have seen to do the conversion is 40+ part numbers long. It would be great if it were possible to get a replica gt2 bumper working correctly with fewer parts.
Thanks!

My fender liners are also GT2 and as far as I can tell I would swap to the OEM GT2 bumper and the only parts I would need are the front 3 GT2 ducts. Hope that helps.
Assuming it comes with all the ducting, hardware, and GT2 hoses, the RUF bumper is an unbelievable bargain. It still blows me away as some of the RUF stuff is downright silly expensive. From what RUF told me years ago, they were having the bumper manufactured by the same supplier that does the OEM bumpers for Porsche. That is what it is a perfect fit and made out of the same PU as the OEM stuff. I think they have since changed suppliers as the bumper was unavailable for a while.
What Porsche did on the TT with the airflow being directed through the bumper and then under the car thus providing a lifting force to the front axle is downright silly. I'm not sure what their thinking was on that.

The RUF bumper does come with an assortment of hardware, and new ducts. It does relocate the center radiator as PWDHOUND noted.
We just received three kits into stock, and if you guys need/want some photos I should be able to get a few.

Does it come with all the GT2 hoses? Obviously those are required when flipping/canting the center radiator.
Thanks John, yup I had forgotten your car was Ruf built. Great info. Seems they figured out the parts needed to make the bumper work without having to use the 40+ parts in the full gt2 OEM conversion.
That would be great if you could post a couple pics of the complete kit. I'm very seriously considering the Ruf bumper, I think it's a beautiful piece! Thanks
Anyone thought of venting the front fenders somehow, be it 991 RS style louvers or another method? That should help quite a bit with the high pressure build up in the wheel wells... I think Porsche said the gains on the 991 were huge with those added.. Maybe there were some changes to the splitter/undertray, but the 991 GT3 was said to have 40 lbs downforce in front, the 991 RS is advertised at 260 lbs... neither say the speed, which makes a huge difference obviously, but even Andreas Preuninger has said in video interviews that addition was huge.
The timing was excellent as the last box I was checking in was one of the bumper kits.
I pulled everything out and photographed all the stuff.
Almost all the bracketery and hoses are Porsche items. The ductings is RUF designed. As are obviously the bumper itself, the upper outlet, and the lower valance.

A couple items are lefts & rights, and I only included the photo of one.
Let me know if anyone has any questions about this or anything else RUF related

That's a first class product. Basically prime and paint. What's the price on these now?
The downforce on this bumper with the built in splitter is substantial. RUF ran the 590 Rturbo with this bumper (and rear wing) at Nardo at 224mph. I've added JT dive planes to the bumper and with a 63" Cup wing I see upwards of lateral 1.5Gs.
