tires on 18s
I just got a set of hre r40s. 8.5 wide front 11 in rear.
thinking about michelin pss 295/35/18 rear, 235/45/18 front.
doesn't look like anyone goes this way. rolling diameter is close 797rpm rear to 790rpm front.
Any reason not to go this way? Tire options are limited both in stock and gt2 fitment...

The ratio front to rear looks good with regards to AWD compatibility.
the real question is will 26.3" front and 26.1" rear tire clear everything?
I would love to go this route...lots of benefits to the taller sidewalls. I just don't know if the tires will rub !

If you can find 315/30/18, go for it. Those are on backorder for most brands that are a match to Porsche load rating specs. I recently went back to 295/30 because I didn't want to wait any longer for Pirellis.
The stock GT2 tire sizes fit just fine. You shouldn't have any rubbing on a non lowered car, and probably not on a lowered car either (I ran GT2 sizes on my car for years with lowering springs.)
But, I think you're going to find that a 295/35 will rub. You can possibly pull off the 235/45 though. Never tried it, I have 235/40 and 295/30 right now.

I really like increased sidewall over all the other tires setups I've run 18 & 19's.

any reason not to go with stock 911tt sizing 225/40/18 and 295/30/18 on 8.5 and 11 inch rims? Tire rack says they will fit on the rims, but for some street tires seems like its hard to beat the sumi htrzIII for $600, the only gt2 fitment in stock are the azenis rt615k for $1220.
Just wanted to make sure noone has had issues stretching stock turbo sized tires onto slightly wider rims.

over 26" is too big for fronts, my car is lowered and 265/35/19 didnt work but 245/35/19 work well and I am sure 255/35/19 will work too, I wouldnt advise to try those big fronts
what about stock gt2 fitment 315/30/18 and 235/40/18... any rubbing issues on a non-lowered car?
will work better than stock, go for it

For a daily driver, the Falken FK453s are a good choice for not much more than the Sumitomos. Plenty of traction and they can even handle the canyons, and btw, Falken is a Sumitomo brand. They are getting a little noisy now that they're 1/2 worn @ 5,000 spirited miles.
I am considering the RT615Ks in GT2 size as my next purchase, I don't daily drive my car and want a very sticky tire for weekend use.

8.5 is plenty wide for a 235. It actually would be a little stretched. My S4 has 255 tires on 8.5in wide wheels. 315 is also fine on 11in wheels as 295 is stretched on them.

good plan. Just be aware that a 235/45-18 tire will have a pretty tall sidewall.

I'm going to reopen my thread because I don't see anyone with 255/40r18s on the fronts anywhere. I've just finished destroying a set of pirelli pzero rossos in gt2 size. I'd like to increase the size up front. The closest size that matches the rear 315/35r18 is 255/40r18 in the front. I am lowered on kw v3s, and have a 8.5 inch rim up front with et 48. tire diameter is 25.9''. Anyone have any insight?
