Si, from what you explained in your other thread, it does not seem at all likely that you have a heat soak problem. Unless your gym is at the end of a racetrack and your workout is extremely quick, you will not have created and retained the heat to cause problems such as you describe. And the gt2rs ic's recover much more quickly than most aftermarket ic's. Please explain further. And who or what has given you the idea that you have a heat problem.

Must have missed it but makes you think the car/engine has a heat soak problem?

The engine/compartment warming up after the engine is shut off is normal, of course. There is the fan which should come on if the engine compartment gets too hot.

You can add/install a fuse in what is probably an empty fuse position -- my references are at home and I can't tell you from memory the fuse position -- which when installed causes the engine compartment fan to run all the time the engine is running. This tends to keep the engine compartment cooler than it would be otherwise.

Coupled with a 2 minute idle to let the turbos shed heat this goes a ways to reducing the severity of the heat soak but won't eliminate it.

But the fan running all the time the engine is on means too that upon a hot restart the fan cools the engine compartment right away vs. the engine compartment heat increasing to the point the fan is switched on.

Have to ask -- not sure if it is even possible -- but is the engine compartment fan blowing air down into the engine compartment or blowing it up? If up that's wrong.

the engine fan would be a totally pointless mod for your car, with that said the gt2rs intercoolers are a great upgrade to lower coolant temps.

As others have stated, what makes you think you have a heat soak problem?

Intercoolers will have zero effect on coolant temps...

Not sure on this.? If our intake (intercooler) temps are higher, wouldnt that "in turn" create a higher engine temp therefore a higher coolant temp?

I don't object but, i would like to absorb some knowledge on this. Thanks.

IMO difference will be negligible and the coolant system is regulated with a thermostat, we have cooling capacity to spare generally unless you're running around Death Valley. If coolant temps are high I wouldn't be looking at the intercoolers to lower them. Stock are pretty bad but the issues will show up as knock long before coolant temps rise from it.

I agree, Coolant system will be heating up and regulated by the thermostat. This only be a matter of time before its threshold though.

I run my car at 5280+ft and that, is close to death valley in regards to dissipation of heat at 100 degrees.

My environment may be extreme but, lets get it right (for me!)

OP, You need to define what your heat soak definition is.

We are all guessing without your input on this thread. We have even debated temp, altitude and coolant systems now. I believe we are all looking to help but, we cant if we don't have more info.

EGT are over 1k generally, adding say 100 degree of IAT isn't going to change EGT unless detonation occurs. IAT has negligible impact on system cooling if it's not significantly moving EGT which is the temp of the exhaust being expelled and effects overall engine temps. You shouldn't be nearing max capacity of your cooling system without having far bigger issues than intercoolers...
