COBB MAFless MAps
COBB MAFless MAps
Looks like the COBB library has never been updated? Where's all the support that was promised?
The canned tunes (OTS maps) leave a little to be desired, but I am looking for a MAF less tune with a 4000 - 4500 two step launch control. I have a Accessport but have been just using it as a gauge as again, I am not a huge fan of the OTS stage maps, but willing to try a MAF less tune if avail./
Car just has: full 3" catless exhaust, 4.5" intercoolers, 2.5" y pipe. Mostly stock engine otherwise.

I emailed COBB's tuner a few days ago, still waiting for a reply. I purchased directly from COBB with the impression that the library of maps would actually update once in a while.
I am 9+ months into my Sambo MAFless tune. We went through a few iterations and it's spot on---the car has never run this smooth or this strong. And it's extremely consistent.
+1, Sam also helped me on a Mafless Tune, car working amazing
Just loaded a mafless tune from Sam this weekend. I love it. Shaved ~1.5 seconds off my 50-100 time versus the OTS map from cobb.
It gets said a lot around here but its true. Sam is the best.

I'm also running Sam's MAFless tune.
It's been a while since I talked with him about it and I'm sure he will be around to comment/correct me, I asked him about launch control. He didn't think it was a good idea and would be more of a gimmick given the type of launch control that the system could provide; it'd be more of a soft rev limit I think was the conversation, and not build much/any boost.
I had similar results as well going from OTS stage 2 to Sam's tune. Very impressive gains, and much smoother in normal driving as well.

I will call you in a little bit. Anyway to have the maps sent today so I can download to the Accessport?
Thanks.
I'm back from the dealership. I will reply to you now...Yes.
For the record the Cobb maps are pretty awesome OTS when used in the selected stages. Most love them even when switching form other well known OTS maps. The 996 is pretty well developed so there is not a whole lot to add before getting into custom tuning where pro-Tuners are a great channel Cobb has created channel for support. MAFless is part of the custom tuning spectrum. There is always room on the table whether it's just the difference for car to car, location, fuel and of course hardware. So custom tuning can be really beneficial. Good support is key.
