Talk to me about Motor Mounts

Looking to refresh the motor mounts on my '03 Turbo. Just passed 50k miles, and exhaust tips look like they are hanging lower than I remember them. Also, when backing up, there's a distinct judder in the drivetrain that I don't completely think is from my Sachs 2.5 clutch.

My Turbo serves 80% daily driver duties, with 2 child car seats in the rear. While I like a certain level of rawness, solid mounts are out. My tranny mount is OEM refreshed.

I'm almost liking the idea of just refreshing with OEM mounts.

Looks like lots aftermarket options. Tell me your preferred choice and why.

I have the RSS and they are perfect. Not harsh at all. Better than stock and rebuildable.

torque solutions here. 74 durometer rating. basically a semi solid mount which is what virtuallt=y every aftermarket mount will be. oem are liquid filled mounts just like mercedes benz uses to reduce nvh .

the best thing i liked about the t/s mounts besides the firmer feel was the low profile so i could run 2.5" tubing for larger i/c

Just put in the 964 RS porsche kit from suncoast porsche. Works great and and came with a recommendation from one of the highly respected members here. Nice adder to the handling of the car and it's all Porsche.

also running Torque Solutions 75A ...work well...

I run Rennline full solid mounts.... Very happy with my choice as well.

I don't think you can go wrong with any upgraded mounts compared to stock ones; they are horrible.

I did the same research and could not find a definitive answer. I went with one members recommendation and the fact that they are OEM Porsche. Done.

actually they arent. if you look at all the different aftermarket, rss, t/s, wevo etc you will see they are virtually identical in design material and durometer rating. its a price and preference vendor choice

RSS here, can feel a slight vibration in the car from them but nothing objectionable. The additional room in the bay is VERY nice. I'm running a 997 trans mount if memory serves. Car feels solid, monoball top mounts in front made a bigger feel difference than motor mounts imo and they too feel good.
