GT2 Bumper Install Questions

Anyone done a GT2 front bumper conversion that can answer a few questions?

I recently purchased a Precision GT2 front bumper. The outlet air grill on the top of the bumper is back ordered and arriving in a couple of weeks, so I have not had a chance to see it yet. I am told it does not come with any mounting hardware and none is shown on the PET, however, there are several holes and pictures of the grill show it has matching holes. I am thinking this piece mounts utilizing trim screws with U-nuts on the bumper. Can anyone confirm this?

Secondly, does the grill mount to the car at the 2 points on the car (just under the bonnet) like the OEM bumper? This would secure it to the car well at the upper middle area.

4 screws that hold the vent to the bumper. needs to be installed before the bumper is mounted. 90* phillips is what i used. and yes just 2 points at the front of the bonnet under the rubber drain seal

have you checked to see if the intermediate plastic pieces are the same size as the openings in the bumper? mine were way off as we discussed

Thanks. I am not using the GT2 pieces, but rather trimmed the OEM ducts and allowed a little extra room for grills I plan to install. They are very close, not perfect, but with the black hexagonal grill I plan to use on the openings, they will not really be seen...

I did have to modify the bottom back edge of the bumper, as it went back about 6" too far and was being forced into an odd position. I made a template of the leading edge of the OEM bumper, lined it up using the mounting holes for positioning and trimmed the bottom to exactly OEM. After this it fit into position easily and perfectly. Every screw hole lined up. The side mounting points behind the marker lights were perfect to begin with, so now all and all it's ready for paint. I just need that piece to arrive...

One other thing I noticed - the OEM bumper has a black plastic piece below the headlight. Does the GT2 have that or is it deleted for weight savings on the GT2? Does not seem like it's used, as the bumper is close to the headlight and looks clean and right without it.

One thing I noticed - the bumper is very light! Nice.

You didn't need to trim the ducts for the rads at all as it will fit fine.

The black seals under the headlights aren't required. I don't run them on either of my gt2 front bumpers.

I actually did in my case, as the duct was holding the bumper out from fully seating for the lower holes to line up. Trimmed it fits perfectly, all holes line up perfectly and the duct is about 1/8" off the bumper. I am putting on custom grills I made and everything is as it should be with the trimming. In my case it would not have worked well without trimming. I am also going to fabricate an aluminum scoop to direct the air up through the vent like the GT2 venting...so I am really going to trim that upper section of the center vent!

The bottom back edge you had to modify does not need to be modified it you do the center radiator flip/tilt. When the radiator mod happens the under duct outlet that interferes with the bumper goes away in lieu of the upward facing duct.

I forgot about that too. OP if doing the correct swap needs to flip the center rad and it gets angled forward using the OEM center ductwork. I have a CF center duct from FVD so it only mounts it a little angled. I don't think I even use the center rad duct; however, as the fit on mine is super tight. You have an OEM bumper if I recall.

Also sign up for Das Ren Treffen, huge Porsche show in Miami in a few weeks.
