aerokit

I am not too familiar with the specifications for the aero kit. Carnewal has the kit at states that you must use the chin spoiler with the entire kit. What would happen if you do not use the factory chin spoiler for the aero kit and instead use someone else chin spoiler Like gemballa?? Is that going to affect the purpose of the aero kit?? Anyone have a picture of this possibly or photoshoped picture??

If you replace the front of the kit with an aftermarket version, I do not think it does anything besides change the looks of the car. I know some of the members who have the aerokit here have changed the front spoiler to a Techart GT with no problems. I am not positive but I do not beleive the aerokit does anything for downforce but is more for cosmetic purposes.

I have heard that Porsche does not recomend it, and that at high speeds, the car might be unstable. There might be some truth, but for the most part, I dont believe it.

Porsche does not recommend useing some aero components seperatly rather than the full kit, I had used the aero front bumper, side skirts and rear gt trims on my C4 cab without the aero fixed rear spoiler and drove the car at excessive speeds numerous times and never experienced any problems not to say its not a good idea to do the full kit.

Porsche doesn't recommend using anything they can't put their fingers on. They just want to overcharge so warn as a ploy to get more $$$. Just my opinion, but, seems awfully shaddy to me. Come on, using a differnt front spoiler will cause the car to be unstable??! Horseshi*

I have the aerokit and I think I am the person TCM is referring to...I think the rear wing does add some downforce (you wouldnt notics it in daily conditions) but the front chin is for looks only...I personally like the look of the aerokit chin much better than stock, especailly that it is painted and the side dkirts match eliminating the cheap black plastic look. I also painted the lower part of the rear bumper...see my sig for pics

I have the aerokit rear spoiler and a stock factory front spoiler. I was afraid I'd trash the aerokit front spoiler given that my car is lowered and the spoiler sits so low. (edited)

If I ever get to the speed that would cause instability I'll be more concerned about jail time.

I have the Aerokit from the factory and it is not made of fiberglass. It is made of hi density PU. and is very stiff yet flexable, it will hold up much better than the stock type. Due to the foward angle of the spoiler if it happens to rub, only the bottom and edges will rub. Unlike the stock standard type which will have a tendancy to fold under. My tt is very low and it is holding up very well. If I had the stock version I would have gone through atleast a few by now.
