Makes sense when you look at it. By the time the 997tt transmission was out the Cups were sequential. The only motorsport development of a like production transmission died with the 996 series. As did many production street car motorsport development similarities. Sad.

As for 997tt similarities to ours, i don't doubt differences. But to truly answer these questions it must first be defined of what intentions are? Bolt in swap? Or part out? Or to build? I would bet the build and upgradeability of the 997tt transmission is probably possible with enough money and parts swap out. By that point though, it would make more sense to just buy a 996 series G50 to build though. But, I would ask a porsche transmission specialist before us keyboard experts 😉
