anyone annoyed that Porsche doesnt make replacement seat buttons?

Apparently, you have to buy the entire electrical assembly if you lose a button... ugh...


fortunately for the 997 guys, they remedied that and you can buy the buttons for $35.


I bought one to see if it would work, but no such luck.

Have you looked for the corresponding buttons in either the Audi or VW parts catalogs? I've found in several situations where the Porsche parts catalog didn't show an assembly sub-component, it was separately identified as part of that component and was available as a VW part (and for purchase). There is definitely parts sharing between these brands; might be worth checking out.

looks like this is a pretty common problem


in my research so far, it looks like the 996 tt switch might be different from a "regular" 996 switch... ugh... Thanks for the continued help, spooltime!!

I can't really see the connector in your pic.... but do you think you could use one from a Benz? (or two if you want to match both sides)

I got the benz one in the mail yesterday. That said, my porsche one is on there tight right now for the time being and i'm scared to remove it and see if the MBZ one fits....lol

hey scott. I actually don't remember. I moved out to parkland. do you ever go to the supercar Saturdays down at lambo/Porsche of north broward? Hope all is well.


Edit: I just picked up a 03 comptech supercharged s2000. Know any thing about those?
