but error light come out front lid not close (but it closed)

my mechanic said the front release motor not work proper😶
Is there other reason like the lock fails to release?

Have someone pull up as you actuate release. I am betting the hood bumpers need to be adjusted for more upward pressure. Also, lube your lock mechanism.

it's a pneumatically operated item that is what activates the actual locking mechanism. if that is failed or "failing", it's a very simple and cheap fix if your issue is NOT simply an adjustment issue involving the rubber "stops" on the bottom of the "frunk lid". if they are too far out of adjustment, you'll still hear the locking mechanism but they won't "open". it's one or the other of these two, but my guess is you need a new "actuator' linked above.

even better that lubing it? just follow vagscums advice above to check the rubber stops and their adjustment height relative to how high their adjustment is..just turn them each ( the black rubber L/R "stops" on the underside of the front hood ) equally, you'll see what we mean. they adjust hi/low.

because if you can "hear" the mechanism "pop" the latch ( even though it wont fully "open" ) when you push the button on the doorsill or the key fob, then this makes it less likely the actuator has failed though..

either way, it can only be one of these things to fix. GL w it.

is it a simple fuse issue or i may need to replace the whole set? (2 nd hand 996 front pairs not pricey in HK but is turbo set different from other 996 models? Is it xeon? )

The headlight not working is probably not related to the front trunk lid not opening. This can be due to the headlight not being inserted properly. It is rather tricky to get the headlight back in the fender and pushed all the way back so the connectors at the back of the headlight housing are securely connected to the wiring harness connectors in the fender.

What I have found necessary is to once I'm sure the headlight housing is in the guide tracks properly to shove the unit back with some force and continue to apply this force while locking the headlight using the toolkit wrench and the bolt that is accessible through a hole in the side of the front trunk.

My info is if one headlight is truly not working most often it is the starter/igniter that is bad. These are not cheap but they are way less expensive than a new headlight.

Also, I've had a problem with the turn signal bulb in one headlight. What I found worked for me was on a bench using a volt/ohm meter confirming the bulb was correctly inserted in its socket. What I found was that in some cases while the bulb felt like it was in the socket the ohm meter showed there was not a good connection.

Be careful adjusting the front trunk lid stops. The front trunk lid wants to be *below* the trailing edge of the front bumper cover. If it is raised this can result in wind noise (a "coke bottle" effect).

My Turbo front trunk lid opens ok. My Boxster front trunk lid no longer pops up like it used it. However, I can reach in the gap with my finger tips and pull the lid up enough open it.

 

The light works all along and the left one still works. May be i press the front lid too hard these few days and made some of the contact loose at the right side🤔

Like macster said, try removing and reinstalling the headlight, there's a tool in the tool kit and instructions in the manual. make sure you have the bar that locks the headlight in place in the right position when you slide it in and are turning it in the right direction to lock the headlight in.

I'd suggest trying a better lubricant like Wurth HHS-K instead of WD-40 since WD-40 won't maintain lubrication for nearly as long.

 

It is important when you close the front lid to lower the lid down then press down right over where the latch and latch catch are. If you press anywhere else you can deform the lid and this affects the latch engagment.

(Couple of times at a dealer visiting with the SM and while we were talking we were also watching someone looking over a car and when ready to close the front trunk lid here comes the salesman running over to close the lid the right way.)

It is very unlikely you have affected the electrical connections by closing the lid, even if you slam the lid down (not recommended!) or even smacking it with the palm of your hand, but if you did it was loose to begin with.

(On a rough section of I-40 in AZ had the driver side headlight of my Boxster go dark. The rough road caused the headlight to work loose. The passenger side headlight was unaffected. The real problem wasn't the rough road -- the car has been on rough roads before and since without any problems -- it was because I simply didn't get the headlight back in the fender properly. There is a bit of a trick to this and I've covered this in previous post.)

Remove the non-functioning headlight and then reinstall it in the fender properly. Start the engine and turn on the lights, the turn signals/flashers and verify all are working ok.

If say just the turn signal/flasher bulb is not working this is probably due to a bulb that is not making good contact though a bad bulb is a possibility.

I went through a couple of rounds with the headlight trying to get the turn signal bulb to work and remain working without success until a co-worker (EE) brought over a volt/ohm meter and checked continuity to ensure the bulb was making good contact. It took some experimentation to get the bulb secure and with a good electrical connection. In spite of the fact the bulb felt like it was installed correctly and I had turned it the right way and all the way the connection was not that good. But since then the bulb has been just fine.
