GT2 Front Bumper on the 996TT?

Couple of questions:

1. Is the OEM GT2 front bumper a direct bolt on fit to the 996TT (2004)?
that is do you just buy it, have it painted then fitted to the car?

2. Does it create any more ground clearance issues than the stock TT bumper?

Short answers: 1) No, 2) Yes

Since the search function is still screwy here, check out these threads on Rennlist:

In order to do it right, you will need to modify the center radiator to tilt to utilize the aerodynamic functions of the upper air vent.
You will have less ground clearance with the GT2 bumper.

Or you can do like I did a while ago and get the carbon fiber bolt on one from Cargraphics. I used the OEM lip and top air vent for the OEM look.
Fits almost 100%. Needs slight adjustments from your body shop.
I will post pics for you when i get home later

If it is not changing the airflow over the radiator, doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of getting the GT2 bumper?

I was trying to spice up the nose of my TT. The blank space above the spot for the license plate is a sore spot for me. I actually like the bottom intake openings on the stock bumper. Hopefuly one day someone would graft just the top 2 slotted vents from the GT2 onto the stock TT bumper and voila!. I would definitely buy one.

did few proper conversions. the center radiator needs to be tilted like Josh said. have also seen few just slap the bumper on, pretty horrible.

Nope, I don't think you need to move the radiator on TechArt bumper.

OEM GT2 bumper on my 2001 TT (and Gt2 wing from MA Shaw with CF blade)

12 pieces total (inc all proper ducting behind bumper) and assorted nuts ,bolts, clips that was scrounged up by Sharky.

Radiator tilted for air flow.

All work done by Sharkwerks.

Just the way I wanted it, functional and lookin just right!
