996 Predicted to Become Most Valued 911
#16
For those that assert volume will hurt the 996's ability to become one of if not eventually the most coveted generation consider this... While there are lower volume generations and specific models - 996 will be the ONLY P-car generation to truly deviate and break the mold somewhat (headlights and water-cooled).
Hence, in the COLLECTIVE volume of all the round light cars on the road light a 996 will singularly be the rarest. Btw, the water-cooled stigma is obviously moot now since the last two generations are as well. Apparently the purists - including myself have gotten over it!

You're not far off! But for those of us that have already or plan to play our cards right hopefully you mean rich(er)! ;-)
I have actually told a few close friends to buy any clean $15k - $25k ultra low mileage simple 996 they see. There are plenty of conservative professionals that are original owners that could move them for reasons we've all discussed. Also mega values tend to favor the book-ends... i.e. fully loaded turbos, X50, GT3 etc - or very base cars. Ironically the base cars are what nobody wants to buy since they offer no street-cred, crazy power or out of the box track mightiness. Hence, these can be snapped up for a song all day. Then just drive it every once in a while which will keep miles very low while helping it remain mechanically sound.
Then some day when we're all old and have forgotten about this because we're rich via less passive methods - our families have yet one more thing to cash in LOL!
