I put these on this week. I know there are varying opinions, but I like em.

Those are def the best coversout there, but I’m not a fan. It’s like Botox on Charlotte McKinney...takes away from what makes the car what it really is.

Although Charlotte and the 996 look great either way.

That blends nicely being a dark colored car. I wish they came this way.

It seems like you could easily pull off the washer nozzles, and pull the fuse that activates them, and then use color match vinyl to keep it smooth.

Suggestions if getting a set

I'm happy with the set I bought. If I had it to do over again, I’d go with a solid color. No mixing the colors. The design is very good, and covers very well - but with mine I did Seal Grey around the rim, which I like - but the design doesn’t work well for the way it has to be taped off. Looks good, but solid would hide what the two color option highlights. Kind of an irregular shape.

Also, if I did it over, I’d be sure the entire perimeter gets double stick tape. Inside edge and outside edge. The contour isn’t a big deal - as long as the entire cover, inside and outside is taped well - then no problem. Works fine. The first one I did doesn’t quite lay flat on one corner, pretty minor, but the second one I put on is tight all the way around.

I also would do your own painting, I ordered painted and it wasn’t a good job. Not worth redoing, just be sure to not be disappointed by doing it local.

Aside from my comments above, they’re nice. I like the look.

To each his own, and I definitely get it. As a new 996TT owner when someone comments on the headlights I just show them this.

Hard to criticize a Le Mans winner.
