This is very good advice.

I am going with a Speedtech exhaust, X pipe setup. You can go on the site and hear what it will sound like. My car has the Sport exhaust from factory, it has a deep sound at idle, but I want more and more power too.

Good choice - you'll love it. At a mid-ohio track event a while back, Neil Switzer asked me what exhaust was on my 996TT after he heard me doing hot laps. 3" cat-less SpeedTech w/OEM tips. It was the exclusive system utilized with our build packages on the 996 & 997.

sweeney186 will become famous soon enough
Very happy with my Speedtech catless 2.5 quite on my tip. Just a hint of drone with the windows down and sunroof open because I use the stock tips, otherwise no drone. Another plus is its modular so you can get more aggressive if you want.

I wonder how long Sambo's satisfaction guarantee is good for.

I also bought my exhaust 4 years ago. Are you saying you took advantage of a satisfaction guarantee recently?

Specifically, Sam helped me transition from the de-cat to catted for my bi-annual smog inspection. I've now got a nice 100 octane MAFless tune that works well with 200 cell cats. Car feels great, about the same as catless, only it's a little quieter at WOT. I really liked the de-cat sound of the Kline, but as others have stated, not really worth the risk or smog hassle to run without cats here in CA.

I tried bought several exhausts back in the day.
I ended up with and love my 100 cell Milltek which handled the power on my 18g set up .
Great sound and not annoying in cabin.
