I had a leak in the hydraulic pump that actuates the rear wing and after taking it apart and replacing the broken component I am having a problem putting it back together. When I opened up the pump things came out in pieces so I didn't get a good chance to see how things fit together and am stuck trying to figure out where the two circlips go. I've read a few threads about people doing the same but not come across a reference to the clips. Is anyone able to shed some light?

 

Anything on google or youtube regarding parts breakdown or diagrams? Perhaps search pump manufacturer. Just a thought.

 

Also available, should care to choose a different route, is a complete electric setup doing away with the hydraulics all together.

The retaining rings are used as a "seat" and fit between the brass cylinders and the white plastic piece. They are not used in the traditional application of retaining anything.

 

To save yourself a lot of time and trouble, just remove your deck lid whenever you work on the hydraulics. It literally takes about a minute to unplug the cable and remove the 4 bolts. Then, bring it in the house and do the work in a nice comfortable environment.

I recently bought a spare spoiler setup just to swap a set of good rams for my dead ones.

There are multiple companies that rebuild the hydraulics, and I like to have rebuilt stuff ready to swap in so that the car has virtually no downtime. So I now have an entire rear spoiler setup all apart ready to be cores for someone else.
