General Question on PPI

Is it advisable to have a PPI done at the independent Porsche shop that seller takes his car to, could there potentially be a conflict of interest or should I have PPI performed by a neutral third party? Seller uses Akers in Seattle.

Each has benefits. Servicing dealer would have all of the service records and knows the car....understand your reservation regarding full disclosure. Indy (Porsche specialist) or other Porsche dealer overcomes relationship bias. A P-dealer could access Porsche service records but won't know the car as well.
be forewarned that a PPI doesn't catch everything...boils down to the thoroughness and knowledge of the car as well as skill and effort of inspector.

Ideally discuss what you want specifically inspected such as motor/transmission mounts, coolant pipes, clutch hydraulic system, etc besides the overall condition. Some dealers aren't doing DME reports, so confirm they will provide specific details.

Yeah cause that shop is probably selling him his next car. The sooner the old one is gone the faster he gets paid. That relationship is with the seller, not you.

if this shop services the car? then just ask them without paying them 300. if it's an honest shop, they'll simply tell you.

Records or not, I'd never take it anywhere that knows the car. You can ask them if it has any issues, but thats as much as I'd trust them. Nothing personal.

^ my last buying experience was with a private seller and the shop that serviced the car and did most all after warranty work, knew it well. it was one of the reasons i so confidently bought the car. i'd still use that shop for anything "major" but are too far away for small stuff i can't do on my own ( with help ).

in my experience, porsche indies are less sketchy ( pound for pound ) than most run of the mill "auto shops". but that's just my take and why i posted my suggestion above.

a reputable pcar indy shop isn't gonna just "lie" about a vehicle they work on, just for another customer's benefit. in general terms, absent some unknown financial or other incentive for them to do so.

True, most probably wouldn't outright lie, but if I'm spending the money on a PPI I want a set of fresh eyes to give me an objective evaluation.
